Bridge Over Troubled Waters?
Definitely a bridge. Definitely over water. I’m not certain it is a bridge over “troubled” waters but hey, YOU try to write that phrase without singing at least PART of the Simon & Garfunkel song of the same name (for the young uns out there Simon & Garfunkel were a very talented song writing team during the ’70’s. After much drama they split. Check it out when you have some time.) inside your head.
My Sister and I did this….
Back about a hundred years ago when dinosaures roamed the earth, my sister and I had a plastic sword battle. You know those little swords they use to hold sandwiches together? I stabbed her in the ear with one of those.
We were on the top bunk of the bunk bed when the sword fight broke out. We went back and forth for at least a couple of minutes and an errant swashbuckling moment later, she had a little sword sticking out her ear, blood streaming down her neck, and 110 decibals of OUCH emanating from her throat. We went to the hospital right after that to see what kind of damage there was and I was grounded for a month or more.
I saw the video below and just had to share it. I’m pretty sure I’m breaking some rule by posting the video but it was so funny to watch I couldn’t help it. Enjoy!
For your entertainment……
Who said you can’t find anything worthwhile on the internet? Not me!
Most of the time I use the ‘net to figure stuff out. How to get somewhere, places to go camping, instructions for assembling something, and what happened at last nights game. News, weather, and sports; that kind of stuff.
If you look around long enough the web will provide some kind of serious humor too. And since I am not a YouTube junkie, and don’t spend time looking around for the funny stuff, I am happily surprised when I find it.
This one found me! It’s origin is unknown and interestingly enough, the file was sent via e-mail by my 80 year old Dad. Proof positive the internet is useful and easy to use.

Song In My Brain….
The Song In My Brain this morning was: Kid Rock’s “Born Free”.
For the record, I am not generally a fan of Kid Rock, but I can make an exception here cuz the song ROCKS! Get about a minute into the song and you might find your toe tapping and your brain memorizing some of the lyrics. If you are like me, you might break out your own personal air guitar and begin strumming wildly along with the song. Just be careful to have the music at a level others will hear as they walk by staring at your interpretation of the song…..there is nothing quite like watching someone gyrate to a tune only they can hear. Share the tune….earplugs are not allowed!
IF I DID THIS RIGHT, you should be able to view the YouTube video right here, right now. Enjoy!
The clip is from the CMA Music Festival 2010
Have you ever tried to walk a cat?
Here is something entirely too funny to keep to ourselves, to NOT share with you. The video is self-explanatory so I’ll just do the setup…..
We went camping RV’ing and tried something new on this trip….we took Jessie, our cat. As I have stated in previous musings, most cats don’t travel well. Ours certainly does not. Her biggest beef is the travel and she let us know about it, continuously, non-stop the entire way up to the campground. If we were in the car, she was not happy about it. The sounds, impressive in volume, were unlike any noise we have ever heard coming out of our cat. I thought it might have been the turns with their side-to-side motion causing the upset. Or perhaps the accelerating and braking was the culprit….I may never know. And in spite of 80% of our trip spent on the freeway with a fairly steady speed, she still let us know how upset she was to be outside the confines of her home. So maybe that was it….don’t know.
But the good news was, once out of the car and inside the trailer, she was one happy cat. Tail up. Nose busy. Eyes alert. This is Jessie looking for fun and frivolity. Looking for something to do. Some mischief to cause. Maybe wreak a little havoc. And, maybe in an effort to prove her Happiness, she was busy the entire time we were there, investigating, hopping up on things, looking out the window(s)….doing all that busy cat-stuff.
And then WE got adventurous and took her outside. Since Jessie is an “inside cat” we knew this had all the makings of something different, maybe even humorous. So the collar went on first. And she was okay with that because we put a collar on her whenever she goes out for fresh air in the back yard. Then it was the leash. This was quite a different story…..it seemed to be made of LEAD! The thing appeared to weigh her down so much she could barely stand up, much less walk.
Happily, I had a camera in hand and recorded the event for all to see.
And now, for your enjoyment, you simply must watch the video…..enjoy!
